A Million Little Stars is a fundraising effort within The Muny’s Second Century Campaign to honor the legacy of the thousands of youth performers who have been on the Muny stage. The Muny provides unique first-hand training opportunities for kids and teens who wish to pursue a career in the arts. Our goal is to reach alumni of our programs and their families, as well as many former cast and creative team members who have worked with our youth.
Young people of St. Louis have been featured on our historic stage from the beginning, when the Muny Youth Chorus was founded in 1919. The Muny’s flagship education initiative, The Muny Kids and Muny Teens, are groups of young artists trained in voice, dance, stage presence, craft, dedication and discipline. The Muny Kids program was founded in 1994 and the Muny Teens in 1998. These programs have produced many stars on and off the stage and their graduates attribute tangible life skills like time management, responsibility and teamwork to their participation.
Gifts made to A Million Little Stars will support the Muny endowment. Our goal is to raise $1 million through this effort. The endowment supports our productions, maintains and improves our facilities, and sustains operations. But most importantly, it allows us to offer education and outreach programs like the Muny Kids and Muny Teens. Growing the endowment through the Million Little Stars initiative will help ensure The Muny’s future.
Our brochure includes testimonials from some of our alumni and current Muny Kids and Teens. If you have any questions or wish to make a gift, please contact our Director of Advancement Courtney Simms at 314.595.5727 or email@example.com.
