The Need
Although The Muny takes care to reinforce walls and inspect our structures to ensure safety each year, it is necessary to address the stage and support facilities. We also require critical infrastructure improvements to our century-old facility so that we can continue ensure a safe, accessible, and enjoyable Muny experience for all well into the future.
During our grand shows, our audience sees the beautiful sets on our stage; but a closer look would reveal years of painted-over chipped paint along with rust and decay on the stage’s supporting structures and light bridge.
Antiquated glazed walls and showers with decaying concrete floors greet our performers as they prepare for a show in the dressing rooms. Crumbling walls and exposed utilities are the backdrop for our crews as they work to make the magic our audiences witness each summer night.
