Visitors to the renovated administration building now enter through a 2-story re-imagined space. Like the Emerson Artists’ Building, the administration building now includes re-configured spaces that are more efficient and timesaving. The new Kranzberg Music Room on the first floor is adjacent to the stage management office. Further down the hall, the canteen and Edward Jones Actor’s Lounge provides new and comfortable places for performers and crews to meet and interact. The addition of an elevator made the second floor of the building accessible to all. The second floor includes expanded suites for Production, Education, Marketing and Development.

Entryways throughout the campus have been renovated or upgraded, including new theatre gates, architectural lighting, refurbished fountains, light fixture upgrades and restoration of the iconic pergolas. The completely redesigned West Lawn and Purina Plaza serve as a dynamic community-focused preshow space to gather for meals, entertainment and recreation. A new First Aid & Nursing Suite on the west pergola is more accessible to patrons than the previous location backstage. The east side will be the location of our new Donor Plaza, wall, and walkway to honor all supporters of the Second Century Campaign. The Donor Plaza is scheduled for completion prior to the 2022 season.

The West Pavilion has been renovated to not only accommodate daytime rehearsals, but for use throughout the year. The platform’s rehearsal floor has been replaced to improve our artists’ safety, confidence and execution during performances. A turntable mimics the turntable used on the main stage. Performers can rehearse on it throughout their eleven-day rehearsal schedule, and not have to wait to rehearse on the main stage turntable the night before they open. Enhanced lighting and upgraded air circulation helps not only during rehearsals but makes the space more comfortable for community and private events.
